As part of our preparedness for Y2K, we needed to change ERP systems.  It was sizable objective when considering there were 12 manufacturing facilities affected by the change, and a timeline that demanded it be done quickly.  Dave Searle (now of Manex) was our support partners’ Project Manager responsible to oversee the changeover project, and his team working in conjunction with our team accomplished the task in only 7 months.  It was an extremely successful project, and the success of the project was echoed by the President when he responded to a question by saying he never noticed any disruption in the business during the cutover timeframe.  Dave has continued over the years to provide his expertise and support to our operation, and has guided the re-establishment of sound fundamentals at our rapidly expanding manufacturing facility in France; an undertaking that has allowed the operation to regain control of its inventory control and planning processes.

Meridian Automotive Systems

As Program Director for DBM Systems Inc., Dave Searle (now of Manex) was responsible to lay out a plan and path to implement MAPICS successfully across 9 manufacturing facilities within Meridian Automotive Systems.  To execute the plan it was necessary to integrate his project team with ours and deploy those resources to work hand in hand on the specific project tasks.  We were also dependant on Dave to stay one step ahead of the main project activity and adjust the implementation design to accommodate the unique characteristics of the next plant in sequence.  It was a highly successful project that was completed on time and within budget, and ensured our manufacturing organization had a strong infrastructure in place along with standardized processes to support future growth.

Raymond Industrial Equipment

We needed to control our synchronous manufacturing flow more effectively, and the guidance we received from Manex allowed us to develop a toolset that enables our supervisors to closely monitor actual progress and react quicker when varying product options shift line constraints.

Many manufacturers and distributors know RIE as the manufacturer of the narrow isle reach lift trucks they themselves use in their day-to-day operations.   RIE has been utilizing MAPICS successfully for many years and deploys the system to control a manufacturing operation where over 2000 components are required to produce a single reach truck.   While a variety of people and a number of support organizations have assisted over the years, a portion of our success can be attributed to the help and support provided by Dave Searle (now of Manex), not only as an employee during the implementation stages, but also in later years as a support consultant helping to implement new concepts and take advantage of new capabilities delivered by the system as it evolved.

When we launched an initiative to upgrade our business processes and to re-evaluate how MAPICS was being used across our four manufacturing facilities. We hired an outside consulting company to assist, and Dave Searle (now of Manex) was assigned to the task as Project Leader.  His project experience, manufacturing knowledge and understanding of MAPICS proved to be invaluable in leading his and our team through the process of redesigning the go forward direction in our plants.  The outcome of the project ensured we had addressed our most important business issues and positioned our company for future growth.
